مُحَمَّد بْن أَحْمَد بْن مُحَمَّد بْن أَحْمَد بن رزق بن عبد الله بن يزيد بن خالد، أبو الحسن البزاز، المعروف بابن رزقويه

Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Razq bin Abdullah bin Yazeed bin Khaalid, Abu al-Hasan al-Bazzaaz, famous as: Ibn Razquwayh

Tabaqah: 17

Birth: 325 H

Death: 412 H

Age: 87

Teachers: Ismaa’eel bin Muhammad as-Saffaar, Muhammad bin Amr ar-Razzaaz, Abu al-Hasan al-Misri, Muhammad bin Yahya bin Umar bin Ali bin Harb, Al-Hasan bin Ali bin ash-Shayrzaadhi, Abu al-Abbaas Abdullah bin Abdur Rahmaan al-Askari, and many others.

Students: Khateeb al-Baghdaadi, Abu al-Husayn Muhammad Ibn al-Mahtadi Billaah, Abdul Azeez bin Taahir az-Zaahid, Abdullah bin Abd us-Samad Ibn al-Ma’moon, Abu al-Ghanaaim Muhammad bin Abi Uthmaan and others.

Status: Thiqah

Opinions of Ahl ul-Jarh wat Ta’deel:

1-    Imaam Abu Bakr al-Barqaani said: “He is Thiqah”

2-    Imaam Khateeb al-Baghdaadi said: “He is Thiqah Sadooq, Katheer us-Samaa’ wal Kitaabah, Hasan ul-I’tiqaad (i.e. having sound belief), Jameel ul-Madhab, frequent reciter of Qur’aan, hard on the people of Bid’ah”

Khateeb also said: “He is the first Shaykh I wrote from in 403 H”

Imaam Khateeb also said that I heard him saying: “By Allaah, I do not like the life of the world for earning or trading, but I like it for the Dhikr of Allaah, and to recite hadeeth on you”

He died in 16th Jumadi ul-Ula on a Monday at the age of 87, and he was buried near the grave of Ma’roof Karkhi.
