Those who criticized him:

1-    Imaam Wakee’ bin al-Jarraah (D. 196) said:

حديث زيد العمي، عن أبي الصديق الناجي، ليس بشيء
“The hadeeth of Zayd al-Ammi from Abu as-Siddeeq an-Naaji is nothing”
[ Ad-Du’afa al-Kabeer lil Uqaylee (2/74), Chain Saheeh]

2-    Imaam Muhammad bin Sa’d (D. 230) said:

وكان ضعيفًا في الحديث
“He was Da’eef in Hadeeth”
[Tabaqaat al-Kubra (7/178)]

3-    Imaam Ahmed bin Hanbal (D. 241) said:

فأما حديث زيد العمي، عن أبي الصديق، ليس بشيء
“As for the hadeeth of Zayd al-Ammi from Abu as-Siddeeq, then its nothing”
[ Al-Ilal by Abdullah bin Ahmed (5983, 5984)]

In another place, he said:

صالح
“Saalih”
[Al-Ilal (4143)]

Note: This is neither a Tawtheeq nor a Jarh.

4-    Imaam Yahya bin Ma’een (D. 233) said:

لا شيء
“He is nothing”
[ Al-Jarh wat Ta’deel (3/560) & Su’alaat Ibn Tahmaan (47)]

In another place, he said:

زيد العمي وأبو الصديق الناجي يكتب حديثهما وهما ضعيفان
“Write the narrations of Zayd al-Ammi and Abu as-Siddeeq an-Naaji and they both are weak”

[ Al-Jarh wat Ta’deel (3/560)]

Note: Against this Jarh of Shu’bah, his narration from him would not work as a Tawtheeq, because although Shu’bah only narrated from Thiqah narrators according to him, but that is only when he himself does not criticize and make an exception of a certain narrator.

“He narrated fabricated narrations from Anas which had no basis until it occurred in heart that he is deliberate in it, and Yahya (bin Ma’een) had bad opinion about him, and it is not permissible, according to me, to take evidence from his report or write his hadeeth except for consideration”
