Those who criticized him:

1-    Imaam Muhammad bin Ismaa’eel al-Bukhaari (D. 256) said: “He has Munkar narrations”

2-    Imaam Abu Zur’ah ar-Raazi (D. 264) said: “He is Munkar ul-Hadeeth”
[ Ad-Du’afa by Abu Zur’ah ar-Raazi (2/447)]

3-    Imaam Abu Haatim ar-Raazi (D. 275) said: “He is Da’eef ul-Hadeeth”
[ Al-Jarh wat Ta'deel by Ibn Abi Haatim (8/83)]

4-    Imaam Abu Ja’far al-Ukaylee (D. 322) mentioned him in ad-Du’afa
[ Ad-Du'afa al-Kabeer by al-Ukaylee (4/138)]

5-    Imaam Abu Ahmed bin Adee al-Jarjaani (D. 365) said: “And there occurred things in his narrations which have been opposed”
[ Al-Kaamil by Ibn Adee (7/516)]

6-    Imaam Ibn Hibbaan (D. 354) said: “He is among those who used to steal narrations and narrate fabricated narrations through it from the Thiqah people…”
[ Al-Majroheen by Ibn Hibbaan (2/289)]

7-    Haafidh Abu Bakr al-Bayhaqi (D. 458) said: “He is not strong”
[ Sunan al-Kubra lil Bayhaqi (5/48 H. 8943)]

8-    It is said that Imaam Abu al-Hasan ad-Daaraqutni (D. 385) accused him of fabricating
[Lisaan al-Meezaan by Ibn Hajar (7/534, 5/479)]

9-    Haafidh Noor ud-Deen al-Haythami (D. 807) said: “He is Da’eef”
[ Majma az-Zawaaid by Al-Haythami (9/44)]

At another place, he said: “He is weakened by the Jumhoor”
[ Majma az-Zawaaid by Al-Haythami (9/150)]

Those who praised him:

1-    Imaam Abu Abdullah al-Haakim al-Neesaaboori (D. 405) said: “He is Thiqah Ma’moon”
[ Su'aalaat as-Sijzi lil Haakim (1/172)]

Al-Haakim also authenticated his hadeeth in al-Mustadrak saying: “Its chain is Saheeh”
[Mustadrak Ala as-Saheehayn by al-Haakim (H. 2921)]

2-    Haafidh Abu Abdullah al-Jurqaani (543) said: “He is the Judge of Madeenah, Thiqah”
[ Al-Abaateel wal Manaakeer by al-Jurqaani (2/298)]

·        Imaam Muhammad bin Sa’d (D. 230) said: “He has narration, knowledge, and insight in Fatwa and Fiqh…”
[ Tabaqaat al-Kubra by Ibn Sa'd (5/440)]

Note: This is not a Tawtheeq.


Conclusion:

Abu Ghaziyyah is severely weak in hadeeth.
