from the best of Allaah’s worshippers except that he had a bad memory, Katheer
ul-Wahem and he would not know thus he was criticized. When he started doing
this abundantly in his narrations, taking evidence from him became invalid”
[Al-Majroheen
by Ibn Hibbaan: 2/131]

·
Imaam Shu’bah bin
al-Hajjaaj is reported to have said that: “Ataa
al-Khurasaani narrated to us, and he used to forget”
[Al-Jarh wat
Ta’deel: 6/335]
However, the
chain of this narration contains the narrator “Yahya bin Ayyoob” and he is
Majhool. Therefore, this narration is weak, wallahu a’lam
Ataa al-Khurasaani and
Tadlees
1- Imaam Dhahabi said about him: “wa
Yu’an’an (i.e. he commits tadlees)”
[Deewaan ad-Du’afa:

Irsaal from Abu ad-Darda, Ibn Abbaas, Al-Mugheerah bin Shu’bah and a group”
[Siyar A’laam
al-Nabula: 6/140]
In short, he did not hear
anything from any of the Sahaabah. And his narrations from them are Mursal.
Conclusion:
Ataa bin Abi Muslim
al-Khurasaani is Thiqah according to the Jumhoor, and he also used to commit
Tadlees and Irsaal.
