Those who praised him:
1- Imaam Maalik bin Anas narrated from him and he usually only
narrated from those who are Thiqah according to him

2- Imaam Ahmed bin Hanbal said: “There
is nothing wrong in him”

mentioned him in his book of Thiqah narrators and said: “He sometimes make mistakes, his hadeeth is reliable when
Thiqah people narrate from him”

Imaam Dhahabi said: “His hadeeth is Saalih Hasan, lacking the highest rank of
Saheeh”

Haafidh Ibn Hajar
al-Asqalaani said: “He is Thiqah, sometimes he
makes mistakes”

as-Suyooti said: “He is declared Thiqah by the Jumhoor”

Those who criticized him:
1- Imaam Yahya ibn Ma’een said: “There
is weakness in his hadeeth, he is not strong, nor is he Hujjah; and Alqamah bin
Abi Alqamah is more reliable than him”

2- Imaam Nasaa’ee said: “He is not
strong”

3- Ibraaheem bin Ya’qoob al-Juzjaani said: “He is Mudtarib ul-Hadeeth”

4- Imaam Abu Ja’far al-Ukaylee mentioned him in Ad-Du’afa
[P. 156]
5- Haafidh Ibn al-Jawzee mentioned him in ad-Du’afa
[P. 120]
Conclusion:
Amr bin Abi Amr is Thiqah
according to the Jumhoor.
