Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Mujammi’, and it is said that he is, Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Yazeed bin Mujammi’ bin Jaariyah al-Ansaari, Abu Ishaaq al-Madani

Those who criticized him:

1-    Imaam Bukhaari said: “He is Katheer ul-Wahem (having a lot of doubts), he narrated from Zuhri, and Amr bin Deenaar, write his narrations.”

2-    Imaam Ukaylee said that Muhammad bin Eesaa narrated to us, he said: Ayyaash (bin al-Waleed) narrated to us, he said: I heard Yahya (ibn Ma’een) saying: “The narrations of Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel are nothing”

Imaam Yahya ibn Ma’een also said: “He is Da’eef”

Imaam Yahya ibn Ma’een also said: “He is nothing”

3-    Imaam Ibn Abi Haatim said that I heard my father (Abu Haatim ar-Raazi) saying: “Write the narrations of Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Mujammi’, and do not take evidence from him, and he is close to Ibn Abi Habeebah (who is weak too).”

4-    Imaam Abu Zur’ah ar-Raazi said: I heard Abu Nu’aym saying: “The hadeeth of Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Mujammi is not of the level”

5-    Imaam Nasaa’ee said: “He is Da’eef”

6-    Imaam Ibn Hibbaan mentioned him in al-Majroheen and said: “He used to alter the chains of narrations, and narrate the Mursal narrations as Marfoo’”

7-    Imaam Ibn Adee al-Jarjaani mentioned him in al-Kaamil fi Du’afa ar-Rijaal and said: “Despite his weakness, write his narrations (i.e. in Mutaabi’aat)”

8-    Imaam Daaraqutni mentioned him in ad-Du’afa wal Matrokeen and said: “He is Matrook”

9-    Imaam Bayhaqi said: “Ibraaheem is Da’eef according to the People of Knowledge in Hadeeth”

10-          Imaam Ibn Hazm al-Andalusi said after narrating a hadeeth: “Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Mujammi is present in its chain and he is Da’eef…”

11-          Haafidh Muhammad bin Abdul Haadi said, after narrating a hadeeth that: “It contains Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel who is Da’eef”

12-          Zayla’ee Hanafi, after narrating a hadeeth, said: “It contains Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Jaariyah, they (Muhadditheen) have weakened him”

13-          Haafidh Ibn Katheer, after narrating a hadeeth, said: “It contains Ibraaheem, who is Da’eef”
[Irshaad ul-Faqeeh: 2/107]

14-          Imaam Ibn al-Jawzee mentioned him in ad-Du’afa wal Matrokeen and narrated the criticisms of Scholars upon him [1/23 T. 28]

15-          Imaam Dhahabi said: “They weakened him”
[Al-Kaashif: 1/208 T. 113]

Imaam Dhahabi also mentioned him in Al-Mughni fi Du’afaa ar-Rijaal [1/9 T. 32]

He also mentioned him in Meezaan ul-I’tidaal and narrated the criticism of Scholars upon him. [1/19]

16-          Haafidh Ibn Hajar al-Asqalaani said: “He is Da’eef from the seventh level”

17-          Haafidh al-Haythami, after narrating a hadeeth, said: “Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Mujammi’ is present in it, and he is Da’eef”
