Death: 165 Hijri.

Those who criticized him:

1-    Imaam Ibn Abi Haatim narrated with his chain that, Imaam Yahya ibn Ma’een was asked about Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Abi Habeebah, so he said: “He is Saalih”

It has also been narrated from Imaam Yahya ibn Ma’een that he said: “Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel is nothing”

2-    Imaam Muhammad bin Ismaa’eel al-Bukhaari (rahimahullah) said: “He is Munkar ul-Hadeeth”

3-    Imaam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) said, Muhammad (bin Ismaa’eel al-Bukhaari) said: “He is Dhaahib ul-Hadeeth (Wasted in Hadeeth)”

4-    Imaam Abu Zur’ah ar-Raazi (rahimahullah) mentioned him in his book of weak narrators.

5-    After narrating a hadeeth, Imaam Ibn Abi Haatim said: My Father (Imaam Abu Haatim ar-Raazi) said: “This hadeeth is Munkar, and Ibn Abi Habeebah is Laysa bil Qawi (not strong).”

At one place, Imaam Ibn Abi Haatim said, I asked My Father (Imaam Abu Haatim ar-Raazi) about Ibn Abi Habeebah, so he said: “He is a Shaikh Laisa Biqawi (Not strong), Write his narrations, and do not take evidence from him, he is Munkar ul-Hadeeth….”

6-    Imaam Nasaa’ee mentioned him in Ad-Du’afa wal Matrokeen and said: “He is Da’eef”

7-    Imaam Ibn Hibbaan mentioned him in al-Majroheen and said: “He would alter the chain of narrations, and narrate the Mursal narrations as Marfoo’”
[1/109 T. 20]

8-    Imaam Ibn Adee mentioned him in al-Kaamil fi Du’afaa ar-Rijaal and narrated the criticisms of scholars upon him and later said: “Write his narrations, despite his weakness”

9-    Imaam Daaraqutni mentioned him in ad-Du’afa wal Matrokeen and said: “He is Matrook (abandoned)”

10-          Imaam Dhahabi (rahimahullah) said: “He is Waahi ul-Hadeeth (weak) according to them (Muhadditheen).”

11-          Izz ud-Deen Ibn al-Atheer after narrating a hadeeth said: “It contains Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Abi Habeebah and he is Da’eef in hadeeth”

12-          Badr ud-Deen al-Aynee al-Hanafi said: “Ibraaheem bin Ismaa’eel bin Abi Habeebah is Da’eef”
[Maghaani al-Akhyaar: 3/500]

13-          Haafidh Ibn Hajar said: “He is Da’eef from the seventh level.”
[Taqreeb: 1/87 T. 146]

14-          Haafidh al-Haythami said: “The Jumhoor (of Muhadditheen) has declared him weak”
[Majma az-Zawaaid: 5/316]

1-    Imaam Ahmed bin Hanbal said: “He is Thiqah, from the People of Madeenah”

2-    Imaam Abu al-Hasan al-Ijlee said: “He is Thiqah”
