Those who praised him:

1-    Imaam Ibn Adee said: “There is nothing wrong in him”
[Al-Kaamil: 4/250 under the biography of Sulemaan bin Abi Kareemah]

2-    Imaam Ibn Khuzaymah authenticated his hadeeth in his Saheeh
[H. 738, 1682]

3-    Imaam Zayaa al-Maqdisi authenticated his hadeeth in al-Mukhtaarah by narrating from him
[H. 1532, 1917, 12/346]

4-    Haafidh al-Mundhiri authenticated his hadeeth saying: “Its chain is connected and its narrators are Thiqaat, and Amr bin Haashim al-Bayrooti is Thiqah; there is a little discussion on him but it does not effect him”

5-    Imaam Dhahabi said: “He is Sadooq and He has been declared Thiqah…”

6-    Haafidh Noor ud-Deen al-Haythami said: “The Majority has done his Tawtheeq”
[Majma az-Zawaaid: 1/26]

7-    Haafidh Ibn Hajar al-Asqalaani said: “He is Sadooq, makes mistakes”
[Taqreeb: 5127]

Those who criticized him:

1-    Imaam Abu Zur’ah ar-Raazi mentioned him in ad-Du’afa
[1/123]

2-    Imaam Ibn Abi Haatim said, I asked Muhammad bin Muslim (bin Waarah ar-Raazi) about him, so he said: “I wrote (narrations) from him. He is Qaleel ul-Hadeeth.” (Ibn Abi Haatim) said: “I asked: What is his condition?” He said: “He is nothing: He was young when he wrote from Al-Awzaa’ee”

3-    Imaam Abu Ja’far al-Ukaylee mentioned him in ad-Du’afa and said: “He is Majhool ul-Naql, and his hadeeth is not followed”
