After the tawtheeq of so many Scholars, only (1) Sufyaan ath-Thawree, (2) Tahaawi, (3) Yahya ibn Sa’eed al-Qattaan, (4) Nasaa’ee, and (5) Abu Haatim ar-Raazi have criticized him, which is rejected because of going against the Ta’deel of Jamhoor. The reason for the Jarh of Sufyaan ath-Thawree upon him is the Mas’ala of Qadr, and it has very comprehensively been refuted by Imaam Adh-Dhahabi [See: Siyar A’laam al-Nabula: 7/21]

The Jarh of Qadari etc are Mardood on the Thiqah narrators. The Jarh of Yahya al-Qattaan, Nasaa’ee and Abu Haatim are contradictory to their Ta’deel. The Jarh of Tahaawi has been refuted by Imaam Bayhaqi.

Conclusion:

Abdul Humayd bin Ja’far is Thiqah and Saheeh ul-Hadeeth narrator, wal-Hamdulillaah.
Haafidh Ibn al-Qayyim has declared the criticisms on Abdul Humayd bin Ja’far to be Mardood. [Tahdheeb al-Sunan with Awn al-Ma’bood: 2/421]
The Jarh of Tahaawi on Abdul Humayd is rejected due to it being against the Jumhoor. The Jarh of Abu Haatim was not found with a Saheeh chain, and if it is found then it is still rejected due to it being against the Jumhoor.
