1- Imaam Ahmed bin Hanbal was asked about him and he said: “There
is nothing wrong in him, his hadeeth is close (Hasan)”

2- Imaam Yahya ibn Ma’een said: “He is Thiqah”

3- Imaam Muslim bin al-Hajjaaj has narrated from him in his Saheeh

5- Imaam Abu Haatim ar-Raazi said: “He is Saalih”

6- Imaam Ibn Adee said: “Sa’eed bin Abdur Rahmaan has some good
Ghareeb narrations, and I hope they are Mustaqeem, and he only erred in some
things according to me, he would make a Mawqoof narration Marfoo and connect
the Mursal narration, he did not do it deliberately.”

7- Imaam al-Haakim Abu Abdullah graded one of his ahaadeeth saying,
“This hadeeth is Saheeh upon the conditions of Shaykhayn, for verily its
narrators are Thiqaat”

bin Abdur Rahmaan al-Jumahi is Thiqah Ma’moon”

is Thiqah, Al-Fasawi has weakened him”

also mentioned him in “Man Takallam Feehi Wahuwa Mawthaq”

Haafidh Ibn Hajar said:
“He is Sadooq, makes mistakes; Ibn Hibbaan exceeded in his weakness”

Ibn Hajar also
said: “He is declared Thiqah by Majority”

Note:
The authors of Tahreer Taqreeb at-Tahdheeb wrote: “He is Sadooq, Hasan
ul-Hadeeth”
Those who criticized him:
1- Imaam Zakariyyah bin Yahya as-Saaji is reported to have said: “Sa’eed
bin Abdur Rahmaan al-Jumahi narrated from Hishaam bin Urwah and Suhayl bin Abi
Saalih ahaadeeth which are not followed”

However, one
of the narrators of this saying is “Muhammad bin Ahmed bin Muhammad bin Ja’far,
Abu al-Hasan al-Aadmi”. Hamzah bin Muhammad bin Taahir ad-Daqqaaq said: “He is not Truthful in Hadeeth”

2- Imaam Ya’qoob bin
Sufyaan al-Fasawi said: “He is
Layyin ul-Hadeeth”

3- Imaam Ibn Hibbaan
mentioned him in al-Majroheen and said: “He narrated fabricated narrations from Ubaydullah bin Umar and other
Thiqah narrators…”

Note: Haafidh Ibn Hajar has refuted the Jarh of Ibn Hibbaan [See, Sayings of
Praise # 12]
Conclusion:
Sa’eed bin Abdur Rahmaan
al-Jumahi is Thiqah according to the Jumhoor.
